Do i need to play the first hitman game

These will allow you to download all of the levels and story content into Hitman 3, letting you play through the entire trilogy in one game. If you already own either Hitman 1 or 2, you can use your existing copies of these games to unlock their Access Passes in Hitman 2 at no extra cost, which will then work in Hitman 3.

You will need to do this even if you're just transferring your Hitman 2 progress! At least, not from the original Hitman 1 game. This is considered Hitman 2 content but is still a full Hitman 1 experience. If you do own Hitman 1, you can unlock the Legacy Mission Pack for free in Hitman 2 that will then let you do the same in Hitman 3, as described in the previous section.

This must be done within Hitman 2; it won't work in Hitman 3. Even though Absolution is my fav Hitman game, most people myself included would agree that in gameplay terms the best is probably Blood Money fourth game , they perfected the Hitman game formula.

For console players, owning Hitman and Hitman 2 is enough to get the levels for free. But because Hitman 3 is an Epic exclusive, there's currently no way to tell the Epic app that you own the first two games on Steam. Epic is, apparently, looking into this. So to make things simple, if you want absolutely everything in Hitman 3, including two expansion levels New York and Haven Island, which are very good , then you'll want to grab this.

And the first two games still look amazing, even without the visual boost they get from being imported into Hitman 3. Play them and maybe Hitman 3 will be a bit cheaper by the time you get through them. And then you can replay all the levels with nicer visuals, if Epic ever figures out a way to let us import them for free.

If you care about story , play them in order. All the levels in the trilogy are linked by a running story about Agent 47 going up against a shady cabal of powerful villains called Providence. Most of your targets are members of Providence, so following the story will give you extra context about who they are and why they deserve to die.
